What is IdleRPG?

IdleRPG is an Idle Game, running on the IRC server 'Cyanide-x'. This is a virtual IRC game, where you sit and idle in the channel.

What is the point of the game?

The point of the game is to see who can idle the longest. As such, talking in the channel, parting, quitting, and changing nicks all penalize you. The user who can idle the most in the channel, wins.

How do I play?

There are many ways to play. You need an IRC client to play. Play IdleRPG in the channel #idle. If you are using mIRC type: /server godzilla.cyanide-x.net -j #idle

What do I type in class?

You can type whatever you like in the class section. This text will be shown, whenever you battle another player. It's what makes your character unique. To change your class, please contact an irpg local admin.

I have forgotten my login details!

Look over your channel logs. They should be hiding somewhere. Otherwise, contact NightFire91 and request for your password to be changed into something you are likely to remember in the future.

How to I fight someone?

You can't fight other players. This is a game where you just sit and idle in the channel.

Do I need to run any scripts, to play the game?

No. But it does help. You can run a login script, which will save you time whenever you login. (paste in remotes) on *:join:#idle: { if ($nick == $me) { msg IdleRPG login nickname password } }

Are there any rules to playing IdleRPG?

No. But while playing IdleRPG, we ask that you follow a few guidelines:

  • Don't nick spam - otherwise we might set channel mode +N

  • Don't talk in the channel. You can talk in other channels. #idle isn't a channel where you are meant to talk generally. We will de-voice users and set channel mode +m to avoid this from happening. Asking for help, is allowed.

  • Don't part/quit spam - otherwise you might find yourself not being able to enter the channel again. If your connection sucks, change ISP.
  • Avoid sending /amsgs. Think to yourself... is this message I am sending really important? Most likely, it isn't.

  • Avoid clones in the channels.

  • No Bots are allowed in the channel without permission.

  • Don't annoy the ops. We have lives. Feel free to annoy Ghost as much as you like. He likes it really.

  • Please may I have status on the channel

I see no reason why I should give you status on the channel. However, I always believe that if you want status you should just ask. Contact NightFire91, and give a good reason as to why you deserve status on the channel. If your reason is good enough, then you will be given temp status. If you hold responsibility, then the status will be set to perm. Makes sense, eh?
